Most temporary road safety barriers on Malaysian sites are one of two things: a water-filled plastic barrier, or a precast concrete barrier. We rent both from the Bangi yard, by the day, week or month, at published rates.

We keep 5,000 plastic road barriers in the fleet, so a long closure at short notice is normal for us. Rates on the product pages are the rates we charge; deposit and transport are quoted per job.
Plastic or concrete: how to choose
- Choose plastic when the line will move, when it goes in and comes out by hand, or when the job is days rather than months. Two people can place a hundred metres in an afternoon. Empty, each unit is 7 kg; filled, it stays put.
- Choose concrete when the line stays for the whole project, when the site cannot refill or empty units, or when the traffic management plan specifies a heavier barrier. Concrete units are lifted into place, so allow for the machine and the time.
- Mix them on a long job: concrete on the edge that never moves, plastic on the taper and the diversions that shift with each phase.
How the job runs
- Count in metres. Each unit is 1 m long, so a 120 m lane closure is 120 units. Add a few for the taper. Not sure? Send the site plan on WhatsApp and we count it with you.
- We deliver, or you collect. Our own lorries run across Peninsular Malaysia; self-collection at the Bangi yard saves the transport. Plastic barriers travel empty.
- Fill on site. A hose and about 50 litres per unit. Filled, a unit weighs 50 to 65 kg and does not walk in the wind.
- Empty before collection. Drain the units, we pick them up, the deposit is refunded once they are back in the yard.
Barriers are usually rented with cones and blinkers for the taper and, on JKR work, the warning signboards that go ahead of the closure. If you are weighing buying against renting, the sums are on rent or buy.
