What this sign says
This is a symbol board, not a worded one. It carries a black figure working with a shovel inside a yellow diamond on fluorescent orange, with a white distance plate below. There is no Malay legend on the face. It warns drivers that people are working on or beside the carriageway ahead.
When it is used
- Any work with people on foot on or next to a live lane.
- Patching, trenching, drain and kerb work along the verge.
- Landscaping, sweeping and grass cutting gangs on trunk roads.
Before you order
- Our face is 1200 x 900 on 3.0MM ACP. That is our stock size, not a figure taken from the standard, so check it against your traffic management plan.
- The distance plate is part of the board, so tell us the figure you want on it.
- Do not confuse it with Flag Man. This one warns that workers are present. Flag Man warns that a person is controlling traffic.
- Mounting: at least 1.5 m high on rural roads and 2.2 m urban, with lateral clearance of at least 3.6 m rural and 0.6 m urban (ATJ 2C/85, Figure 2.1). On a portable support, keep the board at least 0.3 m clear of the roadway.
- We also carry a highway specification version of this board. Tell us the road type and we will confirm which one we send.
- Tell us the frame you want (A shape or post), how many boards, your start date, how long you need them, and whether we deliver or you collect from the Bangi yard.
