What this sign says

AWAS PEMBINAAN DI HADAPAN is Malay for caution, construction ahead. Our board carries that wording in black on fluorescent orange over three lines, a white distance plate below it, and a blue band at the foot carrying JKR. It is the board that opens a work zone, the first thing a driver reads before any cones appear.

When it is used

  • Road and highway works with traffic still running past the site.
  • Utility, cable and drainage work on the shoulder where plant sits close to a live lane.
  • As the opening board of a sequence that closes with PEMBINAAN TAMAT past the last work area.

Before you order

  • Our face is 1400 x 1200 on 3.0MM ACP. That is our stock size, not a figure taken from the standard, so check it against your traffic management plan.
  • The distance plate is part of the board. Tell us the figure you need. The standard lists 250, 350, 400, 500, 1000 and 2000 m for its advance warning sign, chosen by traffic category (ATJ 2C/85, Part Two), so fix the setback in your traffic management plan first.
  • Mounting: at least 1.5 m high on rural roads and 2.2 m urban, with lateral clearance of at least 3.6 m rural and 0.6 m urban (ATJ 2C/85, Figure 2.1). On a portable support, keep the board at least 0.3 m clear of the roadway.
  • A shape stands are quicker to move day to day. Post mounting suits a job that stays put for weeks.
