What this sign says

PEMBINAAN TAMAT is Malay for construction ends. Pembinaan is construction, tamat is finished. Our board carries the two words in black on fluorescent orange, with no symbol and no distance plate. It tells the driver the work zone is behind him and normal conditions resume. It is listed as sign T.18e (ATJ 2C/85, Part Two).

When it is used

  • At the far end of the works, after the last cone or closed lane, facing the traffic that has just come through.
  • Lane closures and contraflows, at the point where the closure actually finishes.
  • Night works, where the end of a zone is hardest for a driver to judge.
  • Any site running a temporary speed limit, alongside an End Speed Limit board.

Before you order

  • Our face is 1200 x 800 on 3.0MM ACP. That is our stock size, not a figure taken from the standard, so check it against your traffic management plan.
  • This is the board most often left in the store. Unless the zone is closed off, drivers get no signal to return to normal speed, and the temporary limit is left doing nothing.
  • Mounting: at least 1.5 m high on rural roads and 2.2 m urban, with lateral clearance of at least 3.6 m rural and 0.6 m urban (ATJ 2C/85, Figure 2.1). On a portable support, keep the board at least 0.3 m clear of the roadway.
  • Pair it with End Speed Limit. One ends the works, the other ends the restriction.
